The Sacrament of ConfirmationConfirmation brings an increase and deepening of baptismal grace: it roots us more deeply in the divine filiation which makes us cry, "Abba! Father!"; it unites us more firmly to Christ; it increases the gifts of the Holy Spirit in us; it renders our bond with the Church more perfect; it gives us a special strength of the Holy Spirit to spread and defend the faith.

Confirmation Preparation ClassesReceiving the Sacrament of Confirmation is a milestone event in the faith life of Catholic teens! We at St. Matthew the Apostle consider it a blessing to be able to accompany your high schooler in this journey, and we are excited about the program we have put together.
Confirmation preparation classes are open to incoming Juniors and Seniors. Classes are on Sunday afternoons (usually the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month) from 4:00 - 6:00 PM. The registration fee is $60. Payments can be made by check (made out to St. Matthew the Apostle) or cash. *Please submit Registration to the Church Office/Rectory (Open M-F 9-4) or mail to: 10021 Jefferson Hwy, River Ridge LA 70123 c/o Becci Sheptock. Please make sure Registration paperwork includes a copy of Baptismal certificate. Can't find your certificate? Call the Church office (504-737-4537) for help!

- September 10, 2024: Parent AND Teen Intro Meeting, 6:30 - 7:30 in the Church
- September 15, 2024: Class from 4:00 - 6:00 in the MBC
- October 13, 2024: Class from 4:00 - 6:00 in the MBCÂ
- October 27, 2024: Class from 4:00 - 6:00 in the MBC
- November 10, 2024: Class from 4:00 - 6:00 in the MBC
- December 01, 2024: Class from 4:00 - 6:00 in the MBC
- December 15, 2024: Class from 4:00 - 6:00 in the MBC
- January 18, 2025: RETREAT from 9:00 - 3:00 in the MBC
- January 26, 2025: Class from 4:00 - 6:00 in the MBC
- February 16, 2025: Class from 4:00 - 6:00 in the MBC
- February 23, 2025: Class & PRACTICE from 4:00 - 6:00 in the MBC or Cafeteria
- March 27, 2025: Confirmation Mass at 7:00 in the Church (Be at the MBC at 6:00)
