The Eucharist is a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the Father, a blessing by which the Church expresses her gratitude to God for all his benefits, for all that he has accomplished through creation, redemption, and sanctification. Eucharist means first of all "thanksgiving." (Catechism of the Catholic Church 1360)
God Feeds His People
On our journey through life, God nourishes us and sustains us with His own Body and Blood in the Sacrament of the Eucharist. Has it been a long time? Don't be afraid to return to the Lord! He wants to give us His Peace and Strength.
All incoming second graders are invited to prepare to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Sacrament of Holy Communion!
(We also enthusiastically welcome any children in a higher grade who would like to receive these Sacraments; a different preparation may be required from what is listed below. Please contact the Church Office for more info). In order to receive these two sacraments, registration is required + attendance of preparation classes at ONE of the following: Family Faith Formation (formerly CCD) - or - Catholic School (SMA or another Catholic School in the Archdiocese of New Orleans).
